'Bad Santa' Gets Not One But Two Sequels?

Bad Santa is quite possibly one of the greatest Christmas films of all time despite its dark, raunchy humor and adult themes, which is unusual for a holiday themed movie.  Billy Bob Thornton was great as Willie, the safe-cracking thief who fills in for the job as a mall Santa to ultimately steal cash and other items on Christmas day with the help of his undersized partner-in-crime, Marcus, played by Tony Cox.  Now, after eight years of wondering what had happened to Willie after *Spoilers Ahead*

Hulu And Miramax Sitting In A Tree...

Yesterday I got home from work and sat down to watch, Solitary, the one reality show that doesn't make me want to vomit, and I don't mind watching (It really is quite fun.  No alliances.  No scheming.  Just good ol' fashioned mind over matter, and the same lame quality participants save a few), but I digress, so, I sat down and browsed to Hulu, for those of you who have turned away from traditional cable and do your viewing online this is probably a staple in your viewing diet, and the first thing I see is a huge promo for Miramax.

Disney Unloads Miramax for $650 Million

After a few suitors - the most recent a group involving Rob Lowe, which seems odd - Disney has reportedly decided to sell Miramax to construction executive Ronald Tutor and Colony Capital. The price, and here's the weird part, is estimated at $650 million.

That seems like a lot of money, but it's the same ballpark Harvey Weinstein's group offered for the studio a couple months back, only to be not just rebuffed by the House of Mouse, but completely removed from the table. Disney has not confirmed the deal, but it's believed that might happen later this month. If the words "construction executive" give you pause, Tutor is not expected to be involved day-to-day. Instead, his role will be that of the managing partner and largest shareholder, while others, presumably movie or entertainment folk, will run the shop. But what will they do with it? That's the question asked by media financier Steve Blume.

Rob Lowe Part of Group Looking to Buy Miramax?

I don't doubt TMZ's reporting on anything as a general rule; what they do, they do better than anybody else. And so when the underbelly-of-Hollywood site says "they've learned" about this or that, you can pretty much start your trip to the bank.

Now, this one seems so far afield that I'm going to wait it out, but "TMZ has learned," begins the article, that Rob Lowe is part of a new half-billion-dollar "multi-platform media company, similar to DreamWorks." That company's first target, apparently, is Miramax. The studio is still up for grabs after Disney put it on the auction block earlier this year.
