With all due respect the MTV Awards used to be a place where young adult fare could thrive, away from the uber-serious Oscar contenders. Now, they seem to cater to the teen vamp devotees and its really sad. It was a Twilight-fest and surrounding talent that walked away with most of the awards with a few delightful surprises (Emma Stone wins best comedic performance for Easy A!).

Daft Punk's 'TRON: Legacy' Score Gets a Music Video

This just in: Daft Punk's score for TRON: Legacy is AMAZING!  I bought the score online last night from Amazon (it's currently on sale for $3.99) and haven't stopped listening to it since.  I fully expect Daft Punk's work here to be nominated for an Oscar in February, and in a year full of top notch scores (The Social Network, Inception, Let Me In) that's really saying something.

Today, MTV premiered the first music video from the score for the track "Derezzed."  The video isn't as noteworthy as the score itself as the imagery is a little weak, but it's still definitely worth a watch as it's kind of a cool mash-up between the original TRON and the upcoming Legacy.  Check out the video after the jump.

'New Moon' Sweeps MTV Movie Awards

It was a sweep for The Twilight Saga: New Moon at the MTV Movie Awards, because it's only the awesomest movie in the history of awesome movies. You didn't know that?

We've got the complete rundown for you, but the film's dominance was so overwhelming that Anna Kendrick won an award for another movie. There were other winners, of course, like Zach Galifianakis and Ken Jeong from The Hangover and somehow Tom Felton from Harry Potter winning Best Villain over Christoph Waltz. Shouldn't a portrayal of Nazi always win in that category? Rain also won for Biggest Bad-Ass Star for his work in Ninja Assassin, which is probably the least predictable award of the night. It also signals that nobody in the category was in Twilight.

'Harry Potter' Clip Debuting at MTV Movie Awards

Over the past few weeks, we've mentioned pretty confidently that if you want to see a Harry Potter trailer, you probably just need to watch the MTV Movie Awards. Hey, guess what: We'll get our first clip from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I this Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards. OK, so it's not the trailer.

But this show does nothing but court younger viewers, so where better to show off a little footage for that generation's now-second-favorite series of books? Looking forward to it; I think I liked the sixth movie more than most people, and was particularly impressed with the third act. Speaking of that generation's favorites, MTV has an exclusive scene from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse this weekend, and that's hardly a surprise, either. That's about as big a bolt out of the blue as learning that Twilight will all every award.

MTV Movie Awards Promo: Bieber vs. 'Hurt Locker'

Here's hoping this is the last time I mention Justin Bieber here at The Big Picture. (Actually, he's supposed to land a role in New Year's Eve, that follow-up to Valentine's Day, so I've killed two Biebers with one stone.)

The teen sensation plays a major role in this new promo for the MTV Movie Awards, which also features host Aziz Ansari and The Hurt Locker's Jeremy Renner. Oh, and 4-D technology. You heard me. I don't expect the Movie Awards show to live up to the promos; it hasn't in years. But Ansari's funny and this year's crop of commercials is pretty solid. The show airs next Sunday, and Twilight will win everything.
