5/10 New DVD Releases: Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, Blue Valentine and much more.

There seems to be something for every kind of movie fan this week.  There's the teeny-bopper flick with Justin Bieber on one hand.  There's the rom-com with Ashton & Natalie on the other hand.  And if you have an extra set of hands laying around - like Goro from Mortal Kombat! - there's the movie with all the Oscar buzz and a couple of foreign films to whet your appetite if that's what you are in to.  So without further ado:

In Theatres Soon: Joseph Gordon-Levitt is 'Hesher'

Hesher starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as it's title character hits theatres May 13, 2011. With this release just around the corner, I couldn't be more excited. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer, 10 Things I Hate About You, Inception) stars as Hesher, a lonely, greasy haired metal head who loves to play with fire and hates the world. When Hesher meets T.J. ( Devin Brochu ), a young boy who is struggling with the loss of his mother and a bully at school, he helps his family cope with their loss in some very peculiar ways.

Sarah Lane Still Insists that Natalie Portman Fooled Audiences in 'Black Swan'

Ballerina Sarah Lane isn't letting go of the controversy surrounding Natalie Portman in the Black Swan.  Says the American Ballet Theatre star, "Full body shots with actual dancing is me.  That why they hired me."  She recently even went on ABC News' 20/20 for an exclusive interview in which she claimed that the film's producers asked her to keep quiet about her role.  She has also taken center stage to speak out in a piece called, "The Real Black Swan" in Glamour Magazine.

Lane goes on to say, ""He asked if I would please not do any more interviews until after the Oscars because it was bad for Natalie's image, they were trying to create this image, this facade, really, that Natalie had done something extraordinary. Something that is pretty much impossible ... to become a professional ballerina in a year and half."

Movie Review - 'Your Highness'

Your Highness Starring Danny McBride, James Franco, Natalie Portman Directed by David Gordon Green Rated R

My biggest fear when going into a comedy—especially an R-rated one where we've seen not just one, but two red band trailers—is that the jokes have all been spoiled already. My second-biggest fear is that it'll be a one-note show; say, for instance, an anachronistic Medieval comedy where the main character talks (and swears) like Kenny Powers. I was pleasantly surprised to find that neither of these fears was warranted in the case of Your Highness.

Combining the worlds of Pineapple Express (director David Gordon Green) and Eastbound & Down (co-writers Ben Best and Danny McBride), Your Highness scratches the itch that Year One missed two years ago. It's the story of two prince brothers. The elder, Fabious (James Franco), is heir to the throne and hero to the kingdom. He regularly embarks on quests, returning with the heads of slain enemies and gaining the adoration of his subjects. The younger brother, Thadeous (McBride), is the black sheep of the family. He gets into trouble, smokes "mystical herbs," and generally embarrasses their father, the King (Charles Dance).

After returning from a quest involving an encounter with the evil wizard Leezar (Justin Theroux), Fabious announces that he's engaged to the maiden he rescued along the way, Belladonna (Zooey Deschanel). The wedding goes awry, Belladonna finds herself once again a prisoner of Leezar, and it's time for Fabious to embark on another quest to rescue her. This time, though, Thadeous and his servant Courtney (Rasmus Hardiker) accompany him. Early on, the gimmick of the movie is that everybody but Thadeous thinks they're in a serious Medieval adventure film, while he talks and behaves like... well, Kenny Powers. "His vulgarity masks his pain," one character remarks. As the film progresses, though, this distinction is relaxed and everybody else becomes just as vulgar. Presumably it's not out of pain, but it's a good source of laughs, and it's a well that gets thoroughly tapped.

Awesome First Trailer for Joseph Gordon-Levitt's 'Hesher'

I'm sure everyone of us, at one time or another has known that same long-haired guy who loves to drink, light things on fire, listen to non-stop heavy metal and doesn't care about anybody or anything.  In the first trailer for Hesher we get to see the talented Joseph Gordon-Levitt bring that familiar dude to life, and he has a suprising impact on the lives of those around him. 

Oscar-winner Natalie Portman (pictured below with Gordon-Levitt) and Rainn Wilson co-star in writer/director Spencer Susser's debut feature film Hesher.
