Mr Skin's Best Nude Scenes 2010

True story: when I was in college, I considered myself an aficionado of which actresses had appeared naked, and where. I even thought I'd maybe put together a website to catalogue what I saw as invaluable knowledge. Then I found out about Mr Skin, and my dreams of riches through nudity knowledge evaporated. (Years later, I felt a particular kinship with the guys in Knocked Up, who have the same experience.) But the good news is that Mr Skin does the job better than anybody else could've anyway.

Among the tons of end-of-year lists, Mr Skin's has become one of my favorites. Not just because it has to do with nudity, but because it's actually something different (because of, you know, the nudity). It's a nice change of pace from the seemingly endless stream of critics' circles top-10 lists (not that those aren't cool too, mind you). Check out Mr Skin's list for 2010 below.

Lindsay Lohan Takes It Off for 'Machete'

So now we'll have it: The Lindsay Lohan nude scene. According to Cleveland Leader, Lohan is going to be topless in Robert Rodriguez' Machete, which is certainly in line with the skin shown in the faux trailer for the film unveiled as part of Grindhouse.

Lohan has flirted with this sort of thing before in a couple magazine photoshoots, but hasn't done a nude scene yet, although at this stage of her career, that's about the only thing that will move the needle. There are better, more talented, less damaged young actresses who aren't insurance risks for the producers that most moviegoers are more eager to see in just about any film. The scene apparently involves LiLo skinny-dipping near a waterfall as part of a ten-minute arc in the film. And that either interests you or not. Probably not, though, because who couldn't see this coming sooner or later? It's not exactly Jessica Alba, now is it?

Mr. Skin's Best Nude Scenes of 2009

It is, of course, end-of-the-year list time, and while we're anxiously waiting to see what critics groups crown the best films of the year, Mr. Skin has something else in mind. As he does every year, the industry leader in flesh, has ranked the best nude scenes of the year, combining both films and cable TV.

I think we all kind of expected Jessica Biel to win this year, with her ballyhooed first nude scene in Powder Blue. Had it been a surprise and had it not leaked to the internet and had the film actually made it to theaters, I think it probably would have won. She was upended, however, by Eva Amurri and her revealing stint on Californication. The other TV entrant is Anna Paquin from True Blood; last year, the show's Lizzy Caplan made the list, when Mr. Skin split it into TV and film categories. 1 - Eva Amurri (Californication)

Portman Calls 'Black Swan' Sex Scene "Extreme"

We've gotten plenty of traffic here at The Big Picture thanks to the story alleging that Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis will have mad sapphic sex in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, so thanks for the hits. Portman recently talked to V magazine about the film and the scene, and while she makes a semantics argument against what's been reported, Natalie is certainly not denying it.

"It's not raunchy - it's extreme," she said. I'm sure there's a difference, if only qualitatively. The tone of the profile makes me think that the extreme scene will involve nudity. Both Portman and Kunis have done nude scenes before, Portman in the short Hotel Chevalier and Kunis in some direct-to-video thing, but now Portman says she's more open to that possibility than she would have been earlier in her career. "Previously I was figuring out my own sexual identity, likes and dislikes and all that stuff, and it's weird to be doing stuff on film as you're figuring it out," she said. "Also, being a sexual object when you're a kid is really uncomfortable." Well, yes. There's that.

Video: Moon Bloodgood's Sorta Topless 'T4' Scene

Like any guy who grew up in the 1980s, I sure did enjoy me some Friday After Dark, now a cottage industry affectionately known as Skinemax. And because it's not quite Friday and not quite Saturday, here's the closest thing to Skinemax we can get away with and keep our advertisers.

There was a lot of debate leading up to the release of Terminator Salvation about whether or not to keep a topless scene featuring Moon Bloodgood. The studio decided against it, in order to preserve a completely meaningless PG-13 rating. So not surprisingly, the scene turns up as a bonus feature on the DVD, due in stores on December 1st. Bloodgood was one of the few consistently good things about T4. I liked Sam Worthington, but they should have devoted more time to fleshing out John Connor to be something beyond growls and frowns. Anton Yelchin was OK, but not really how I pictured Reese. Bloodgood was effective, though, topless or not.
