Birdwatching sounds like the single most boring activity to do.  I love birds, in fact my nickname is named after one, but going out to watch birds seems boring.  It could probably be compared to the down time between catching fish on a fishing trip. Now competitive birdwatching might be a tad more exciting if Jack Black, Steve Martin, and Owen Wilson are your competition. That's the basis for the new film, The Big Year,  competitive birdwatching.

'The Big Year' A Movie About Birdwatching?

I have been out of the loop for a few weeks now and during this hiatus from recreational technology the question of Steve Martin came up in conversation, so naturally, upon returning I looked him up, and viola, The Big Year.  Martin stars alongside comedy veterans Jack Black and Owen Wilson in a comedy revolving around the world of birdwatching.  How is that even remotely funny one might ask?

New Trailer for Woody Allen's 'Midnight in Paris'

Legendary filmmaker Woody Allen takes us to the most romantic city in the world (I'm told) for his newest comedy Midnight in Paris.  The film's trailer shows Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams as a couple, who are  traveling with family to Paris, France on business. 

Of course, each person is enjoying their own little Paris experience, especially Wilson who continously separates from the family after midnight to explore the "magic".  Meanwhile, McAdams seems more engaged by the presence of Frost/Nixon star Michael Sheen and his fond appreciation of the fine arts and night life the city has to offer.

Movie Review - 'How Do You Know'

How Do You Know Starring Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson Directed by James L. Brooks Rated PG-13

The cover of this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly hailed "The Return of Reese," referring to the fact that Reese Witherspoon's starring role in How Do You Know is her first on-screen since 2008's Four Christmases. Perhaps even more noteworthy, though, is that it's "The Return of James": this is writer-directory James L. Brooks' first film since Spanglish in 2004, and personally I'm pretty glad to find that he's still got it.

This is a romantic comedy, yes, but Brooks brings a sensibility that's refreshingly different from what we're used to getting out of the genre in recent years. Witherspoon plays Lisa, a career softball player who's just been cut from Team USA for being too old, and thus too slow. She goes through a "what do I do now?" phase that plays out with an honesty you might not be expecting.

'Zoolander 2' is Almost a Sure Thing

"What is this? A center for ants? How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to read... if they can't even fit inside the building?!"

The first Zoolander wasn't that highly rated.  But like it or not, any fan of comedies will agree that there's some great lines in the film.  That's why I'm very excited to hear that Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller read the script, liked it, and we'll probably do it sooner rather than later.  

Early November we reported that Viacom will make the film.  However, we weren't really sure who would be involved in the project.  Says Wilson, "I just saw him (Ben Stiller) now and we’re talking about doing another Zoolander movie."  When asked about the film going into production, Wilson responded,
