'Wet Hot American Summer' Sequel Confirmed?

Attention hipsters!  On last night’s Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, Michael Showalter seemingly confirmed that a Wet Hot American Summer sequel will indeed happen.  He responded to a twitter question on the possibly of a sequel with; “Absolutely, yes,” he said. “One hundred percent yes. The whole gang — everyone is back. We’re doing it.”

That whole gang he refers to includes Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Christopher Meloni, Molly Shannon and Michael Ian Black.

Movie Preview: 'Our Idiot Brother'

I'm starting a new segment today where I preview a new movie opening each week, picking what I believe will be the best of the rest.  

This week's pick goes to the promising comedy Our Idiot Brother starring Paul Rudd as his family's black sheep or idiot brother.  In Our Idiot Brother, Rudd plays Ned an idealist hippy, pot head who interrupts the lives of his three sisters, played by Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer (Good looking family).

The Debut Poster of Paul Rudd as 'Our Idiot Brother'

I've always thought of Paul Rudd as one of the kings of subtle comedy, and am stoked to see him finally get the opportunity to carry his own comedy.  On August 26, we'll get to see him bring out his inner burn out hippie in the movie Our Idiot Brother.

Today we'll just have to settle for the first poster from the film, which shows Rudd as sort of a Jesus lookalike.

Top Three Funniest Men On The Big Screen Of The 2000's

With some funny movies coming out this year and some that have already come out, it is often debated who the funniest men on the big screen are. Some people will go with your basic Will Ferrell or Steve Carell, but they're funny in different ways. Ferell has his signature yelling and screaming, while carrell plays his Michael Scott-esque characters. But where I find most of the humor from a funny man in a leading role is in the delivery. Here is my list of the three funniest men on the big screen of the 2000's.

Apatow Taps Rudd and Mann for 'Knocked Up,' Part Two

I’m not the biggest fan of comedy sequels as a general rule, but there’s been some notable exceptions.  Get Him to the Greek, Nicholas Stoller’s follow-up to 2008’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall, comes to mind.  Movies that are technically sequels, but focus on a smaller character from the first film, tend to have a better chance of not re-tracing explored territory.
