New 'Dark Knight Rises' Poster Really Needs to Burn

So far, the marketing for The Dark Knight Rises has been damn near perfect.  We've only received information about the film in small bits, all providing for just the right about of space to imagine and speculate.  The asthetics of what we've been given have been awesome as well, creating an epic motif of complete distruction, giving us something to associate with newcomer villain Bane.  And now...they had to give us this as our (allegedly) final poster.

New 'Lovelace' Poster Has Me Locking the Door So My Parents Won't Catch Me

If you are of a certain age, then you remember when the only way to rent movies was at an actual video store.  Some of these video stores had a back room, usually covered by a curtain that contained movies of a more “adult” nature.  You, with friends, or by yourself, may have snuck back there, giggled and stared at amazement at this seemingly other forbidden world.  I bring this up because the poster for Lovelace has been released and bears a striking resemblance to those back room video covers.

New 'Amazing Spider-Man' Poster Tries To Channel Batman

It's a little hard to say exactly where The Amazing Spider-Man is trying to fit itself into the whole "super-hero" scene.  The movies (the first two, at least) did a great job at being amazing on their own without falling into the whole "make everything DAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRKKKK!!!11!" philosophy that so many studios are adopting nowadays.  Amazing Spider-Man seems to be falling into that (rumor has it that Raimi was axed because he didn't agree with the direction the studio wanted to go in), and this poster is a conformation of that.

First Poster for 'Seven Psychopaths'

 

Martin McDonagh had been off the radar since his 2008's In Bruges, but obviously he wasn’t totally idle.  I think it’s safe to assume that he spent at least part of that time writing the screenplay for his upcoming crime drama, Seven Psychopaths.  McDonagh gets plenty of help in the stellar cast that includes: Colin Farrell, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Tom Waits, Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch), Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace), and Gabourey Sidibe (Precious). Not a bad comeback, huh?

'The Amazing Spider-Man' Hangs His Head in New Poster

I expressed my doubts about how good The Amazing Spider-Man would be last week after learning some tidbits of the films origin story from director Marc Webb.  The GTBP readers emphatically disagreed with me, believing this new Spider-Man reboot should be much better and darker than Sam Raimi's versions of the web crawler's heroics.  You guys might be right...
