Russell Crowe Gets a 'Man of Steel' Poster And An Awesome Gun

The exact details of Man of Steel's plot remain a mystery, and some of what we have been shown raise more questions than answers.  Case in point: Russell Crowe as Jor-El.  Jor-El, for the uninitiated, is Superman's biological father, and he perished along with the rest of the Kryptonians when Krypton exploded.  There may not seem to be much room for him in the story, but he was given a major actor and a fair amount of publicity.  Check after the jump for one more example.

New 'Catching Fire' Poster Has Katniss Where She Belongs

With The Hunger Games we got a female protagonist that succeeded in every way that Twilight's Bella failed.  Katniss Everdeen is strong, complex, realistic, and admirable in a three-dimensional way.  Coming that with a stunning actress like Jennifer Lawrence, and it's not surprise that The Hunger Games succeeded the way it did.  The sequel, Catching Fire, is being released later this year, and we have another poster to remind you just who is at the center of it all.

Fan Made 'Episode VII' Posters May Have More Creativity Than the Actual Poster

Here’s what we concretely know about Star Wars Episode VII:  J.J. Abrams is directing, Michael Arndt is writing it, it’s tentatively set for a summer 2015 release date.   The rest, including all the talk about Ford, Fisher & Hamill returning, I won’t consider set in stone until Disney makes its big announcement regarding the movie this summer.  But will that stop the Star Wars fandom?  No it won’t.  Part of that fandom has led some to create posters for the sequel.  I have to admit, I like what I see.

Paramount Showers Us With Two New 'Star Trek Into Darkness' Posters

The campaign for Star Trek Into Darkness is the quickly because my poster child for how not to market a movie.  Yes, Paramount, I am aware that Benedict Cumberbatch is in your movie, and that he blows things up.  Can you give me another reason for why I should see it?  Because I'm a Cumberbatch fan, and that's still not enough to get me excited.  Finally, though, we're seeing some variety, because there's a whole crew of characters to carry this film.  Today, we have posters for two of them.

New 'Star Trek Into Darkness' Poster Switches Things Up (Finally!)

As much as I'm looking forward to Star Trek Into Darkness, I'm getting freaking tired of their marketing campaign. If I see one more poster of Benedict Cumberbatch standing in front of a destroyed city skyline, I think I'm gonna go murder a tribble.  Luckily, the new poster just release doesn't rely on that visual motif, but it still manages to portray that level of destructiveness that we know the movie is going for.
