World War II Drama 'The Railway Man' Adds Rachel Weisz

Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener) has signed on to join fellow Oscar winner Colin Firth (The King’s Speech) in Jonathan Teplitzky’s adaptation of Eric Lomax’s World War II biography, The Railway Man.  Lomax’s story focuses on two distinct periods of his life.  The first part relates the torture the young Scotsman suffered as a Japanese prisoner-of-war aboard Burma’s infamous “Death Railway” and then his post-war struggles to find inner peace and forgiveness.

'Oz The Great and Powerful': Production Begins On Sam Raimi Film

Just today the press release for Disney's prequel Oz The Great and Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi, released a bevy of info for those awaiting details on the film. Touted as a major production and hopefully a worthy addition to the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz, here's hoping L. 'The Bourne Legacy': Edward Norton As The Villain?

So goes the efforts in trying to keep the Bourne franchise alive and kicking. Not only is Jeremy Renner taking the lead over from Matt Damon's Jason Bourne, but the film seems to have found its villain for The Bourne Legacy. That man is none other than Edward Norton.

'Oz: The Great and Powerful' Has a Release Date

Directed by Sam Raimi, Oz: The Great and Powerful has made news on the web twice this week, first for its release date and its latest casting for a pivotal role in the film.

Firstly, as reported to Entertainment Weekly, the movie will have an intended premiere of March 8, 2013. Oz is also being released in Disny Digital 3D, take that news however you wish. I'm hoping prequel is as much a spectacular visual bonanza as it was with The Wizard of Oz.

First Glimpse of 'Dream House'

The last we heard, director Jim Sheridan's upcoming Dream House was getting delayed due to trouble coordinating a reshoot schedule with its cast. That's understandable, considering how busy the primary actors of the film are: Daniel Craig currently has 3 films in post-production, one in production, and one (the new Bond) in pre-production; Rachel Weisz has 3 in post and 2 coming up (not to mention that she's in the process of divorcing Darren Aronofsky); and Naomi Watts has 3 projects recently wrapped, and another 3 on the horizon.

Hmm... That sounds difficult to coordinate, even with MI6 involved.

Things seem to be back on track, though, with a re-scheduled release date of September 30 looking like a hittable target, and Universal has now released the first still from the film to give us a glimpse of what it looks like. Check it out below.
