All Star Cast Searches for Missing Dog in 'Darling Companion' Trailer

Never mind...I guess they found the dog.

Another dramedy featuring a top knotch cast my parents will love has emerged.  Darling Companion stars Diane Keaton or the former Mrs. Michael Corleone as a woman who brings a stray dog into her home only to lose it shortly after, as mans best friends runs away.  She's heartbroken that her dog, Freeway, whom she loves more than her busband (Kevin Kline) bolts when being watched by the husband.  Sounds like foul play to me?

Principal Cast Set for 'Let the Right One In' Remake

Having already heard that Kodi Smit-McPhee from the upcoming The Road was the odds-on favorite to take the male lead in Let Me In, a little more light has been shed on the remake of last year's Swedish vampire movie, Let the Right One In, a film you absolutely should see irrespective of this new Americanized version.

Chloe Moretz, who plays Joseph Gordon-Levitt's startlingly mature pre-teen sister in (500) Days of Summer, has been officially cast as the young vamp, called Eli in last year's film, but in the remake she'll be called Abby. Similarly, Smit-McPhee's character will be renamed Owen. That's a pretty good young cast for this film, which will roll into production with director Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) soon for a 2010 release. But it gets better: The great Richard Jenkins, a recent best Actor nominee for The Visitor will play Abby's kinda sorta father figure/manservant.

If you like getting fully invested in this awards season stuff, we'll try to keep you updated on the special offers the studios are offering, such as a free listen to the Benjamin Button soundtrack. It's hard to say how many of these things will pop up online, but I hope we get a few more.I do hope you'll check out The Visitor, a film that made its debut in the spring, even if you don't think you have time to download and read the script, which Overture Films has provided for us. It's got a great performance by Richard Jenkins, who I hope gets an Oscar nomination; it would be a great win for the kind of actor who just does very reliable work no matter what. There are plenty of them out there, but they usually aren't afforded this type of leading role.The Visitor was written and directed by Thomas McCarthy, who served the same functions on The Station Agent several years ago. You may actually recognize McCarthy from his tons of performances. He's been in The Wire, Good Night and Good Luck, Syriana, and Meet the Parents, though when we talked with him at the Phoenix Film Festival in April, he seemed to want to explore writing and directing a little more.I think the reception to The Visitor will buy him some time in that department. So download the script if you can and rent the DVD. It's one of the movies this year that flew under the radar, but it's definitely worth a look.
