Twi-Hards Lining Up for Monday Premiere of 'Breaking Dawn Part 1'

Love it or hate it, Twilight is an international phenomenon.  That much can not be disputed.  The young adult novel turned movie franchise has been bringing in cash since the first film released in 2008 with a $69.6 million opening weekend.  Next Friday, the first part of the end, Breaking Dawn Part 1, will be releasing and some fans are already lining up in Downtown Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre to get a glimpse of the series' super stars, such as Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, as they walk the red carpet Monday when the movie premieres.

New Trailer for 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1' Has Arrived

Attention to all the ladies:  The trailer for the newest Twilight movie, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1 has arrived here on GTBP for your viewing pleasure.  I've never seen any of these movies, but I know they involve romance, vampires and werewolves and come from the popular novels by Stephenie Meyer. Robert Pattison is the main vampire, Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) is his girlfriend in the series.

My Twilight knowledge is impressive, believe me I know.

Movie Review - 'Water for Elephants'

Water for Elephants Starring Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon, and Christoph Waltz Directed by Francis Lawrence Rated PG-13

Mmmm, what a delicious combination of cinematic ingredients! Add beautiful actors, stunningly rich production design, transcendent cinematography, glittering 1930s costumes, deceit, betrayal, love, lust, and trained animals, mix them up in an enormous circus tent, and voila! You have Francis Lawrence’s twisted little joy ride of a behind-the-big-top drama, Water For Elephants, the story of a young man beginning an unexpected, after college life.

The film begins in the somewhat cliché tradition of The Notebook and The Green Mile, but introducing us to the much aged Jocob Jankowski, (Hal Holbrook) standing in a circus parking lot long after hours. At first glance, it seems the old man may have lost a few screws over the years. As the circus’ owner, played by Paul Schneider, prods him with questions however, he soon finds that not only is the old man lucid, he has quite a story to tell, namely, the great tale of one of the greatest circus disasters in history.

Ordinarily, an introduction like this would have immediately turned me off due to it’s innate here-we-go-again quality. There is something different about this film though: the almost surreal picture quality, the sincerity with which the opening scene is directed and performed, and the few juicy dialogue lines of intrigue, excited me enough to kick off my shoes, curl up in my seat, and settle in for the two hour escape.

Jay Baruchel Joins Cast of 'Cosmopolis'

I love it when actors choose a new role that is the polar opposite of most of their previous work.  Today I was pleased to learn that typecasted comedy star Jay Baruchel has signed on to director David Cronenberg's next drama Cosmopolis, Deadline reports.

Baruchel joins an already impressive cast list that features Robert Pattison, Paul Giamatti, Samantha Morton and Juliette Binoche. 

Cronenberg adapted the screenplay from Don DeLillo's novel Cosmopolis, which tells the story of a successful financial wiz and multi-millionaire named Eric Parker (Pattison) who during a hectic day of riding in his limo throughout Manhattan, somehow manages to lose his entire fortune.

2010 Razzie Nominations Revealed

With the 2010 Oscar Nominations only a day away, the annual Hollywood backlash that is the Razzie Awards announced their nominees today.  In case you didn't know, the Golden Raspberry Foundation's Razzies recognize the "worst" Hollywood had to offer this past year.  I put the word worst in quotes because it seems as these awards go on that they have shifted from poking fun at the truly terrible to the films and those in them that have the most stigma attached (hello Twilight saga).
