Leaked 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' Photo Of Flying Monkeys

Can we begin with the possible nightmares?  I’m sure many of us were terrified by the flying monkeys in the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz and it comes as no surprise that Sam Raimi has figured out a way to scare a new generation of moviegoers with the iconic flying mammals in Oz: The Great and Powerful.

The leaked photo comes from Perez Hilton and showcases the actual suit for the flying monkey which seems to be human-sized.  Even more so terrifying that the crouching originals.  See the picture below:

Sam Raimi's 'Oz The Great and Powerful ' To Mirror Classic 'Wizard of Oz'

Here’s a film to which many have stated is near sacrilege.  How do you extend the mythology as iconoclastic as The Wizard of Oz?  Well, you explore the story around Dorothy Gale and her travels that center on the actual Wizard, "Oscar Diggs" (James Franco).  Thanks to Joey King, who plays "China Girl" in the film, she revealed an interesting tid-bit about the structure in Sam Raimi’s Oz The Great and Powerful.

Lots of 'Evil Dead' Damage Control From Diablo Cody

 

When it was announced that Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody was brought onboard for the Evil Dead remake, there was an understandable outcry from fans.  Cody's last stab at a horror with Jennifer's Body failed both critically and financially, and details of the script that were released only gave them more reason to be worried.  On her recent tour promoting Young Adult, her newest collaboration with Juno director Jason Reitman, she attempted to put fan's worries to rest.

'Evil Dead' Remake Details Emerge to a Thunderous "Meh"

 It seems like nothing is safe from being remade these days, even something as unique and beloved as Sam Raimi's low budget horror/dark comedy flick The Evil Dead.  Raimi himself is producing the project, which gives fans some hope.  Unfortunately the script is being written by Diablo Cody, whose last horror film, Jennifer's Body, did not impress.  The newly released details don't give the fans that much more to be happy about. As previously revealed by Bruce Campbell himself, Ash will not be a character in the film.

New Details on 'Oz: The Great and Powerful'

 

With Sam Raimi deep into principal photography on his latest film Oz: The Great and Powerful, the D23 Expo revealed some new info for the film set up at Walt Disney. They unveiled a behind-the-scenes video where "[d]irector Sam Raimi opened the video wearing a suit reminiscent of the one worn by the original Wizard of Oz, Hobart Bosworth." There was also reveals for some of the concept art and an official synopsis.
