No Makeup = Ultra Realism?

Is not wearing any makeup for a film role, the best way to showcase realism?  Now, the majority of working women that I know don't wear any makeup whatsoever but if it's captured on screen, will that sit well with audiences?  Alfonso Cuarón thinks so as Sandra Bullock tells USA Today that she shot the entire film, Gravity, without any makeup.  Sandra Bullock plays a medical engineer who is sent to space on her first mission with experienced austronaut, Matt Kowalsky, played by George Clooney.

Sandra Bullock to Join Clint Eastwood in 'Trouble With The Curve'?

Last week GTBP reported that Clint Eastwood was thinking of stepping in front of the camera as an actor for the first time since Gran Torino.  Now big time actress, and fellow Oscar winner Sandra Bullock may co-star with Eastwood in the new baseball drama Trouble With The Curve, Twitch reported earlier.  The new film is set to be helmed by Eastwood's long time producing partner/part-time assistant director Robert Lorenz and will mark his directorial debut.

Guillermo del Toro Speaks On Alfonso Cuaron's 'Gravity'

When you Guillermo del Toro gushing about your film, you know you're doing something right. Having done just that, director Alfonso Cuaron is getting some high praises from del Toro for Gravity. This is the first we've heard about the highly anticipated film (besides its casting changes, more of that later on) from a big name in Guillermo del Toro and its ambitious take on the project and its narrative.

George Clooney to Star in 'Gravity'

Isn't movie casting really just a game of musical chairs in Hollywood? 

Today we have a big casting update for Alfonso Cuaron's 3D sci-fi thriller Gravity.  Robert Downey Jr. was originally signed on to star opposite of Sandra Bullock, but has now been replaced by George Clooney, according to Variety.com.  Bullock also took on the role after Natalie Portman passed on it, while the project was initially set up at Universal before going over to Warner Bros.  Whew! That's a whole lot of movement for one movie   

In Gravity, Clooney and Bullock will play a pair of astronauts fighting to survive on a remote space station after satellite debris kills the rest of the crew and leaves the station barely intact.
