'Hannibal' is Must See TV

What happens when you bleed a movie series dry and eat the remains?  Take the story and its infamous protagonist to the small screen via television, of course.  This is exactly what NBC has in mind with reports that the network has ordered thirteen episodes of a new Hannibal themed dramatic series from Pushing Daisies creator/producer Bryan Fuller. 

Fuller will exec produce and write the script for this TV version of Hannibal with the story serving as a prequel to what we saw in the films Red Dragon and Manhunter

'The Office' Standout Dwight to Get His Own TV Spin-Off?

THR has confirmed that NBC is looking to develop a Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) led spin-off of The Office, highlighting the generations of Schrutes and their successful beet farm operation.  Why the hell didn't they plan this sooner?  I guess given the The Office's choke hold of dominance on network television it makes sense to wait until now for NBC to unearth their next hit series.

The game plan is to test the concept on an episode of The Office later this season and see how it holds up in the ratings.

A&E Playing the Copycat Game with ‘Bates Motel’ Series Order

Earlier this week we learned that AMC, was developing a series based on Scorsese’s mob drama Goodfellas.  This week comes word that A&E has also decided to grab a piece of the big-to-little screen fanfare by ordering Hitchcock’s classic thriller Psycho to series.  The series will be written as a prequel to the events surrounding the original film and delve into the deconstruction of Norman’s mind.  No cast has been announced, but through THR we learned that Anthony Cipriano (Twelve and Holding) penned the pilot script.

AMC Grabs the 'Goodfellas' TV Series

A Goodfellas TV series based on Martin Scorsese's hit film has long been discussed, but now it has finally come closer to fruition.  In attempt to join in the arms race of network mafia/organized crime related TV series, like HBO's Boardwalk Empire and upcoming shows like Luck, AMC has decided to develop the Goodfellas series, according to Deadline.

The new series will serve as a prequel to the original film, meaning it will highlight the exploits of characters Henry Hill (Ray Liotta), Jimmy Conway (Robert De Niro) and Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci) when they were younger during the 1960s.

New 'Star Wars' Live Action TV Series Gets A Title

Please...no..more...As much as the quality level of the series may have plummeted when the prequels were released, Star Wars is still the definitive sci-fi series of visual entertainment.  Most of us probably left it behind when Revenge of the Sith was released, but the CG show The Clone Wars has done well on Cartoon Network.  There's been rumblings of a live action series bridging episodes III and IV for a while now, and through an IGN interview with producer Rick McCallum, we have a working title: Star Wars: Underworld.
