A Dangerous Method director David Cronenberg really deserves a lot more than just the cult following he has. He's one of those directors who is able to balance violence and story, understanding how to construct a film in which one supports the other. His 2007 thriller Eastern Promises was no different, telling a harrowing story of corruption and exploitation, leaving itself well open to a sequel. As the pieces begin to fall in place for it to happen, Cronenberg has given some tantalizing details for where he wants to take the story.

Is there ever a limit of wanting to be somewhere so badly, you would do anything to be there? I wish i could've attended the 68 Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica or as we North Americans know it, the Venice Film Festival. Particularly to see A Dangerous Method and its director David Cronenberg speak about the film and the inspiration, as well as research behind the film, that fed the script from reality and the subconscious.

Trailer For 'A Dangerous Method' From David Cronenberg

It has finally arrived! The newest film from David Cronenberg, THE Canadian mastermind of the weird, has given us a new tale of the mind with A Dangerous Method. The film stars Michael Fassbender as Carl Jung (the birthfather of Analytical Psychology who believes that religion is dominant in the human psyche), with Viggo Mortensen as Sigmund Freud (founded the principles for psychoanalysis), Kiera Knightley as Sabina Spielrein (a beautiful young woman who ends up seducing Jung and Freud) and Vincent Cassel as Otto Gross (a morally corrupt anarchist who formed the anti-psychiatry and sexual-liberation methods).

Viggo Mortensen to Play General Zod in 'Superman'?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, if director Zack Snyder and producer Christopher Nolan have their way, Viggo Mortensen will play General Zod in their Superman reboot. THR writes that Mortensen "is said to be at the top of the list to play General Zod, the evil and super-powered scientist who was portrayed by Terrence Stamp in 1980's Superman II." (Stamp, of course, also played Zod in the original Superman film.)

Mortensen has not actually met with Snyder or Nolan yet, but he is reportedly a "person of interest." Personally, I think it's a bit of an odd choice. Mortensen certainly has the acting pedigree, but I don't really see him as a nefarious intergalactic general hellbent on world domination. But I think Nolan has certainly earned the benefit of the doubt at this point in his career.
