'Fast Five' Sequel To Be Split Into Two Movies

Splitting movies into two parts seems to be the thing to do nowadays, starting with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  Since then we know we get to see Breaking Dawn in two parts (Woo. Hoo.), and the Hobbit will be delivered to us in two installments as well.  Now, the creators of the next installment of The Fast and the Furious series have decided to go the same way, claiming that the story they have is too big to be contained in one movie.

Karl Urban Back with Vin Diesel for 'The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking'

Any excuse to grow a mullet, right?

Star Trek standout and future Judge Dredd Karl Urban will re-team with Vin Diesel on The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking.  This next Riddick adventure is being dubbed as a sequel to Pitch Black (2000), which would see Urban revise his character Vaako from The Chronicles of Riddick.

Urban is the second actor to join the film, after Diesel.  The plot in this one revolves around Riddick and his need for vengeance against those who betrayed him.

Vin Diesel Talks About Concept Art for The New 'Riddick' Movie

Despite not liking the Fast and Furious movies and The Chronicles of Riddick, I've always thought of Vin Diesel as a decent actor and he seems like a good dude.  Today, he proved me right about the latter and gave his fans props on his Facebook page, while also discussing the importance of the concept art for the next Riddick film. 

Here's hoping the untitled Chronicles of Riddick sequel is much more Pitch Black than Chronicles of Riddick.  Now here's what Mr. Diesel had to say, after sharing this concept art on his Facebook page.

Cool Concept Art For 'Chronicles of Riddick 3'

As you may have heard, Vin Diesel is going back to the well for the third time as filming for the third installment of Chronicles of Riddick will be underway shortly in September.  Obviously, Vin Diesel is very excited to make this film which has only done so-so at the box office ($57.7 million domestic for the 2nd Riddick) but has always had huge interest from fans of Vin Diesel.  I guess to make a long story short, it is a role he's perfect for. 

For Diesel's birthday, director David Twohy sent him a cool looking concept art piece of the movie which he decided to share with all the fans.  Thanks Vin!

Vin Diesel to Star in & Produce 'The Machine' for MGM

Fast Five might've been the trailer that caused my friend and I to bust out laughing at in the theater, but it's more or less the hit movie that helped Vin Diesel resurrect his once flourishing acting career.  Now the retooled MGM productions is banking on Diesel to pump life back into its studio by starring in an action-comedy called The Machine, Deadline reports.

In The Machine (similar to real life), Diesel will play a human-like machine created in secret by the Pentagon in order to become the world's ultimate weapon.  Some 20 years later, after the government had become disenchanted with its weapon, the buried machine is discovered and reactivated by a young boy and the two become friends.
