Trailer For Wes Anderson's 'Moonrise Kingdom' Released

Wes Anderson is a love-him-or-hate-him director if there ever was one.  I'm planted firmly in the former category, but there are plenty of people who don't get the humor in his movies.  I don't blame them.  His sense of humor isn't like anything I've seen before, and it either resonates with you or it doesn't.  Other fans of his have something to rejoice about, though, because the trailer for his next oddball comedy, Moonrise Kingdom, has been released.

Today we've got pictures, courtesy of IMDB message board user The Film Stage from the set of my favorite writer/director Wes Anderson's next project titled Moonrise Kingdom.  Anderson (pictured below with Bill Murray) is responsible for making great films like the Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Life Aquatic, The Royal Tenenbaums and my #1 film Rushmore.

Moonrise Kingdom is the story centered on a pair of lovers that flee their hometown, which prompts a local search party to go out and find them.  And now I present to you the three onset photos (not the best quality) below.

Wes Anderson's 'Moonrise Kingdom' Acquired By Focus Features

Wes Anderson's ( Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited, The Royal Tenenbaums ) latest project Moonrise Kingdom has been picked up by Focus features, who has brought such great films to life, including: Lost In Translation, 21 Grams and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. Anderson is directing the film and co-wrote with Roman Coppola ( The Darjeeling Limited ). Filming has begun, and Focus Feature International will begin International sales at the Cannes Film Festival this month.

Wes Anderson's Latest Film is 'Moon Rise Kingdom'

Today, it was announced that Wes Anderson's latest film Moon Rise Kingdom (previously called Moonrise Kingdom, no space) is moving along with some casting news. Now this is the first I've heard about it, so all this information is pretty exciting for me. Now I can typically take or leave Anderson's work, but with what I'm about to share with you, it looks promising.

First of all, the casting. He's lined up Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, and Tilda Swinton. That's one helluva cast, considering it'd be a good movie with just one of those actors.

'Fantastic Mr. Fox' Blu-ray/DVD Art and Details

So happy I won't have to wait too long to pick up Fantastic Mr. Fox on Blu-ray. The stop-motion Wes Anderson flick, which we placed as the number five film of 2009, is headed to home video on March 23rd. Although I wish it had done better in theaters (only about $20 million in the US), I think its rightful home might be DVD and Blu-ray, the kind of movie you pop in when you know the kinds of laughs you need. DVD Future has the list of essentials you'll find on the discs, which retails for $40 for Blu-ray, $30 for the DVD. Of course, you get more with the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack than the normal DVD - everything, in fact - so it costs more on that basis.
