Trailer - Matthew McConaughey Refuses Shirt, Good Script in 'Surfer, Dude'

You knew it had to come to this, of course. One day, we'd have to face a movie in which Matthew McConaughey was almost entirely shirtless. He's been shiftless countless times, but that's something else entirely. Though the movie looks absolutely boneheaded, some women will pay to see McConaughey in most of his glory in Surfer, Dude, although we really should point out that he's not a huge box office draw, even for women.

In Surfer, Dude, he plays a surfer, and a dude, looking for some tasty waves. Then there's some big business angle that doesn't appear to make any sense. An evil video game designer, maybe? I dunno.

Here's the trailer, and it's every bit as dimwitted as you might think:

I'll answer the question for you: The beautiful one? Her name is K.D. Aubert. You're welcome.

Anyway, this steaming pile hits theaters this September. Can't wait.

Trailer - 'Transsiberian' Is Not the Love Train the O'Jays Made It Out To Be

Although it appears much of the twists and turns in Transsiberian are nestled in its new trailer, I still find quite a bit to like about it. Ben Kingsley's latest attempt at an authentic accent notwithstanding, any movie that takes place on a train - even if you're simply throwing Momma from it - has more intrigue than a similar movie that doesn't. Unless we're talking Under Siege 2 or something. But the claustrophobic element a train adds to a movie can't be underestimated.

It looks like the filmmakers also manage to get some intense action out of it, which isn't easy to do on a train, so double the fun, I say. Finally, the couples in question - Woody Harrelson and Emily Mortimer and Eduardo Noriega and Kate Mara actually look like couples. That's so undervalued these days. For example, Click was on cable last weekend. No way. Sandler and Beckinsale? Nope.

But this one gets it right in the casting and in the trailer.

The voiceover gives it a pretty cheesy feel, but overall, I think this one's effective. In any case, it makes me want to see Transsiberian when it comes out in August, if only to figure out which one of these characters is actually Felicity Huffman halfway through a sex change.

A-Plus Casting Rumors for 'The A-Team'

I took a day or so to process this casting because I had a strong opinion that the movie wasn't a great idea. The latest casting news, however, might have changed my tune. The upcoming A-Team movie may have just landed Tyrese Gibson in the role of B.A. Baracus, the character made famous by Mr. T. And if the other rumors have legs, you might see Woody Harrelson as Murdock and Bruce Willis as Col. Hannibal Smith.

John Singleton will direct The A-Team, which is beginning to sound less and less like an inauthentic 80s cover and more and more like a complete reinvention. That's the only way to go to make this movie legitimate, and you could argue now that you have a better A-Team than the one NBC launched 25 years ago.

Granted, those three names sound almost like a casting wish list, but bear in mind that even wish lists usually go way overboard and are almost never executable. The A-Team, though, has believability and merit; CHUD recently chatted with Gibson, who says he's excited by the opportunity, although the project would have to fit into his increasingly busy schedule.
