Bradley Cooper Rumored To Cameo in 'Man of Steel'?

I'm all for Hollywood big budget superhero films to be big, audacious and fun.  Unfortunately, that sometimes means getting big name actors to play roles in films that don't necessarily need them.  Currently suffering from Hollywood-actor-itis in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, which already stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Michael Shannon as the lead villian, General Zod.  Rumor comes that Bradley Cooper is supposed to be playing a second villian, albeit in a cameo capacity.

Julia Ormand Out, Ayelet Zurer In As 'Man of Steel's Mother

Earlier this year, it was reported that Julia Ormand was set to play Lora Lor-Van, the birth mother of Kal-El, or Superman for the comic illiterate in Man of Steel.  Well, Deadline has reported that Ormand is out and Ayelet Zurer is in.  Zurer was in such films as Angels and Demons, Munich, and Vantage Point, neither film I remember watching.  Ayelet accompanies Russell Crowe, Jor-El, as the birth parents of Superman.

Michael Shannon Talks Playing Zod in 'Man of Steel'

This isn't the motion capture suit Shannon will wear as Zod.

Michael Shannon has starred in HBO's Boardwalk Empire and many feature films, yet not moviegoers even know who he is.  That all changed once he joined the cast of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel to play Superman nemesis General Zod.  The superbly talented actor spoke with MTV about his role in the film, and the motion capture suit he must wear for it.

When asked about playing an iconic comic book villain, previously portrayed in Richard Donner's Superman (1978) in a brilliant performance by Terrence Stamp, Shannon had a lot to say.

First Official Plot Synopsis of Zach Snyder's 'Man of Steel'?

Here's what we know about the Man of Steel: Henry Cavill will wear the "S" on his chest, and an all star cast of veteran talent surrounds him.  The movie release has been pushed to the summer of 2013 by Warner Bros.  So we have all the pertinent info we need to know about Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, right?  Well almost.
