'Terminator' Adds Posters, Debates Rating

Yahoo! Movies has some cool new stuff from Terminator Salvation. You'll find a pretty good collection of the pictures for the film that have been released so far, including a couple of new ones with Christian Bale, as well as a look at three brand new character posters.

Unfortunately, Yahoo! is being stingy on the posters; only one can be seen is a significantly larger format than we've shown you above. More on that in a second... But while we're on the subject, McG took the stage at WonderCon this weekend to address the film's rating. The director says he doesn't care what it winds up being based on the content he wants in the final product. Of course, he wants a topless Moon Bloodgood in the rain. Don't we all?Warner Bros. wants to cut that scene to deliver the film at a PG-13 rating, which is a friendlier line for summer. But I think the studio would be wise to see what Watchmen does over the first month as an R-rated movie before it places too many restrictions on Terminator.

"Determined" to Make the 'Arrested Development' Movie

I would think this is as official as an Arrested Development update can be. Show creator Mitch Hurwitz was answering a series of questions about his new animated series, Sit Down, Shut Up, when, inevitably, the subject switched to the big screen spin-off of the Fox show that ran for about two-and-a-half seasons.

Coming Soon reports that there was some joking around between Hurwitz and Will Arnett, who played Gob Bluth on Arrested Development and is one of the voice actors on Sit Down, Shut Up, but then Hurwitz focused on finally setting the record straight. "Here's what's going on with the movie," he began.

Tragedy! Keira's 'King Lear' Cancelled

The new British production of Shakespeare's King Lear had everything. Everything except money.

The big screen Bard adaptation was set to star Anthony Hopkins, Gwyneth Paltrow, Keira Knightley, and Naomi Watts, but Ruby Films has had to pull up stakes on the $35 million project, although a spokesperson for for the company would not say if the decision was related to the troubled economy, offering only, "Ruby are no longer doing it - the film will no longer go ahead."

Box Office: Jailed Madea Shivs Jonas Brothers

There's good news for people who hate the Next Big Thing. The new Disney movie, Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience made about $18 million less than it was supposed to, meaning in terms of percentages, it made about 40% or projections. The new weekend numbers at Box Office Mojo show that Jonas made $12.7 million, barely good enough to finish in second place. Because of the awful production of the film - which didn't screen for most critics and may not have enjoyed a lot of free front page press as a result - the door was wide open for Madea Goes to Jail, which kind of won the weekend by default. The new Tyler Perry movie is already his biggest hit, in a short career full of them. Recent Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire finished in third place, and Taken continues to be one of the year's surprising stories. The Liam Neeson action flick has now earned over $100 million, and could earn over $125 million domestically, which comes on the heels of $70 million in international box office. The other new release this weekend, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, didn't even make $5 million, putting it on a pace to earn about $12 - $14 million while it's still in theaters. That's a bomb. The Top Five:
1 - Madea Goes to Jail - $16.5 million
2 - Jonas Brothers - $12.7 million
3 - Slumdog Millionaire - $12.1 million
4 - Taken - $10 million
5 - He's Just Not That Into You - $5.9 million

'Street Fighter' Rockin' a Zero at Rotten Tomatoes

Though I doubt it will ultimately go down as the worst movie of 2009, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is certainly building a resume that fits the bill. We figured it would be bad, and it is, laughably so, and the box office numbers confirm it's probably going to be a dismal commercial failure, as well.

A cursory glance at its Rotten Tomatoes numbers reveals something even worse, however. So far, only 20 reviews have come in...but they all pan the video game adaptation. Yep: A 0% rating, and this in a world where Fired Up! has a 30% approval from critics and even The Pink Panther 2 gets a 10% grade. But 0%? Ouch.
