Scorsese Demands 'Silence' from Day-Lewis, Benicio

By my count, Martin Scorsese has been linked to no fewer than six movies since winning his Oscar for The Departed nearly two years ago. Who does he think he is, Guillermo Del Toro?

The reality is not nearly as exciting; Scorsese has been working on Shutter Island, which is due in the fall, and now Variety reports a couple of big names have signed on the dotted line to appear in Silence, which will apparently be the next Scorsese project.Daniel Day-Lewis and Benicio Del Toro are in final negotiations to star as two Jesuit priests who are subjected to violence and persectution when they try to spread Christianity in Japan in the 17th century. Gael Garcia Bernal is also in talks to co- star.

Trailer - 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' Video Game

It was a couple weeks ago that we showed you some new screen captures from the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine video game, and now we have the trailer.

The graphics are really good in the trailer, but that's not actual game play, so it'll be interesting to see how close the game comes to realizing the same look. We do know from our earlier report on it that the game will fairly closely mirror the set-up of the film, although the individual scenes probably will vary quite a bit just to keep the game exciting.

New 'Terminator Salvation' Production Photos

There are a few new production photos from Terminator Salvation, released by Sony to Screenweek. I think it speaks well for the film that they don't have to have Terminators or Christian Bale in everything we've been seeing, and in this car, they're not in it at all.

Instead, we have two of the Resistance fighters, Moon Bloodgood and Common. Bloodgood portrays a pilot, paired primarily with Sam Worthington in the fight against Skynet, while Common is on the ground with Bale, who, of course, portrays John Connor. As usual, click to enlarge:

Ranking the Movie Ads in Super Bowl XLIII

We've got a pretty good assortment of Super Bowl commercials, one of which is so sensationally bad ass it just mutes most of the others. And then there's one that goes in a completely different direction, scoring major points for its approach.

This isn't everything, however; there's still the 3-D commercial for Monsters vs. Aliens, which hasn't been leaked online, to the best of my knowledge. In order from best to worst, here are the movie commercials airing later today during Super Bowl XLIII:

Harrison Ford Gets Younger in 'Crossing Over' Poster

The poster for Crossing Over has been released, and there's one thing I really like about and a couple things I don't. The movie comes from director Wayne Kramer, whose Running Scared was not really a hit, although it certainly had a few interesting scenes.

Something about that (and his previous film, The Cooler) has made him an in-demand director, because he's grabbed Harrison Ford, Jim Sturgess, and Ashley Judd for Crossing Over, not to mention a certain current Best Actor nominee who is going unbilled, although his stunt double gets credit.
